His Joonko, an Israel-based start-up, hopes to help companies create diversity in the workplace by providing recruitment technology. This creates a much-needed balance between gender and cultural and ethnic influences.

“We provide opportunities for underrepresented individuals, women, people of color, and veterans,” said Albrey Brown, who recently joined the company as his manager and vice president of strategy at the U.S. general. I’m here.

Creating a diverse workforce is beneficial to company culture and helps create innovative products, Brown said. He pointed out that it was also “the right thing to

Organizations around the world recognise the importance of a diverse workforce. This is both because employees have come to expect it and because having a diverse workforce in terms of gender, ethnicity, and culture is good for business. A 2015 study by consulting firm McKinsey & Co. and updated in the following years shows that companies with a diverse workforce are “financially better.”

According to McKinsey, “Companies in the top quartile for gender, racial, and ethnic diversity are likely to have higher revenues than the national industry median.”

Diverse companies are improving access to top talent while becoming more attractive to customers, having happier employees, and making better decisions, according to McKinsey. But progress has been slow in most countries and across all industries, McKinsey said.

According to McKinsey, there were still 20% women in management teams in the United States and the United Kingdom in 2019.Globally, she was down from 14% in 2017, and she was only 15% in leadership teams in 2019.Minority representation in leadership teams in the UK and US was only 13% in 2019, down from 7% in 2014. Globally, the percentage in 2019 was 14% for him.

Joonko was built around this concept. The company was founded in 2016 by Israeli CEO Illit Raz. As a woman in tech, she said she has personally witnessed the biggest barriers to hiring underrepresented talent.

Her Joonko, named after Japanese climber Junko Tabei, who became the first woman to climb Mount Everest in 1975, finds qualified candidates and matches them to appropriate positions in the companies she partners with. developed AI-based software. The company does this by focusing on potential hires from underrepresented communities and building a large talent network of vetted candidates across the industry. Through Joonko’s technology platform, companies and businesses can access the network to recruit for various positions, track analytics to improve strategies, and reject candidates who fail the cut with a personalised “farewell with dignity.” I can send you a letter (an offer to join the Joonko Network and “match” a relevant role). Joonko then adds the best candidates to her talent pool.

In September, Joonko announced his $25 million Series B funding round, led by Insight Partners and backed by Berlin-based Target Global and existing investors Kapor Capital and Vertex Ventures Israel. Did. The round brings the startup’s total funding to date to $38 million.
