A senior French military official positioned at a NATO base has been arraigned and imprisoned on doubt of spying for Russia, neighborhood media and sources said on Sunday. The French armed force official was positioned abroad, a legal source said affirming subtleties from Europe 1 radio. As per the report, the officer was positioned on a NATO base in Italy and is associated with surveillance in the interest of Russia.
The French government affirmed it was exploring a senior military official over a “security penetrate”. “What I can affirm is that a senior official is confronting lawful procedures for a security penetrate,” Guard Clergyman Florence Parly revealed to Europe 1 radio, CNews and Les Reverberations paper.

The legal source said the official had been prosecuted and imprisoned on charges including “knowledge with an unfamiliar force that sabotages the key interests of the country”. Europe 1 said the official was a lieutenant-colonel positioned with NATO in Italy and had been set under scrutiny on doubt of spying for Russia. He communicates in Russian and was found in Italy with a man distinguished as a specialist of the GRU, the Russian military knowledge administration, the report said.
It said he is associated with having provided touchy reports to Russian knowledge. The man was captured by DGSI insight administration as he was going to leave for Italy toward the finish of his days off in France, and is being held at a jail in Paris, Europe 1 said.
