A former soldier Miroslav Marcek confessed Monday to the murder of Jan Kuciak a Slovak reporter and his betrothed, a criminal offense that stimulated massive demonstrations resulting in the resignation of Head of state Robert Fico.
Marcek said to the Criminal Court of Law in Pezinok, just north of the principal city Bratislava, that he acknowledged guilt, an admittance in which might decrease his term from prospective life jail time.
