Bin Salman to Trump: Saudi Arabia will pay ‘nothing’ for its security

The crown prince of Saudi Arabia, Muhammad bin Salman, said in an interview that Riad “will not pay anything” to the US. for the “security” of the kingdom.

“Actually we will not pay anything for our security. We believe that all the armaments that we have of the United States were paid, are not free, “the Saudi prince said in an interview with the US magazine  Bloomberg  on Wednesday and published on Friday.

The statements of the Saudi heir respond to recent statements by US President Donald Trump, in which he claimed that the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, would not last in power without the military support of Washington .

The tenant of the White House threatened on September 20 to his Arab allies to  reconsider their military support if they do not reduce the price of oil .

However, Bin Salman tried to minimize the differences with Trump. “We must accept that any friend says positive things and negative things. We can have misunderstandings and put (these statements) in this category, “he added, adding that he” loves working “with the US president.
