The conflict between Israelis and Palestinians is the longest conflict in the world. Basically, it is the conflict between two movements which include Palestinian nationalist and Jewish Zionist who claim the same territory.
HISTORY AFFECTING THE ISRAEL PALESTINE CONFLICT:
Palestinian Arabs and Israeli Jews both are fighting over the same land. The conflict is about who gets the land and how this land would be controlled.
Both Arab Muslims and Jews claim the land thousand years back. This political conflict currently began in the 20th century.
Today’s conflict is a reflection of the two historical wars waged during 1948 and in 1967. The current conflict is basically dependent on the 1967 war because it allowed Israel the control of the Gaza Strip and West Bank, both of these territories were home of the Palestinian populations.
Israelis left Gaza during 2005 but Hamas was a group who won the elections and controlled that area. It does not recognize Israel as an independent country and they aim to return Palestinians to their previous homeland.
Israel still controls the entry and exit at the borders.
LIFE OF GAZA:
Israel controls the coastline of Gaza making the life of the Palestinian people difficult. They don’t get much food items and most are unemployed.
PALESTINIAN REFUGEES AND CONTINOUS VIOLENCE IN GAZA:
Both the wars with Israel left many Palestinians to move out of their homes and seek refuge in the neighboring countries.
Palestinian refugees along with the descendants live in the camps at Gaza strip, West Bank, Jordan, Syria as well as Lebanon. They are getting help from the UN. There is still violence within Gaza as the rockets exchange continues.
America is playing an important role to establish peace and settle the fight between Israelis and Arabs but nothing works.
Most of the individuals in the want West Bank and Gaza claim that this is Palestine land that was seized by Israel. Most of the Israelis do not agree to this condition as they don’t feel safe and until Hamas accept that it should exist.
